Lorna Dagg

Lorna Dagg is a clinical nurse specialist based at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle upon Tyne, and has been performing ECP for just over 2 years. Her background is working in the Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant unit at the Great North Childrens Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne. Lorna’s primary focus is ECP and apheresis in paediatrics, and she is passionate about improving and developing the service, to benefit both patients and the outcomes of GvHD.

Lorna really enjoys networking and meeting other teams at events such as The UKPS annual meeting, as it allows for sharing of best practice with the aim of standardising the care delivered around the UK.

Newcastle is a recognised ‘Centre for Excellence’ for low body weight ECP patients, and Lorna therefore receives international visitors to the unit for training days. Lorna feels that cascading excellence and knowledge is a privilege, opening up avenues for ECP development in both acute and chronic GvHD in paediatrics.
