Meet the Member: St James’s Hospital, Dublin
Carmel Ann Galligan is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) working with the post Haemopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT) patients in St James’s Hospital, Dublin. Their national centre completes approximately 90 allogeneic HSCT a year. Carmel has 12 years of experience working within a Haematology/ HSCT setting in Ireland, where in her role as ANP, she provides care for two caseloads of patient post-HSCT and patients on Extracorporeal Photopheresis (ECP).
Carmel strives to provide the best evidence-based practices to her patients daily, where ECP is an effective treatment for her patients with both acute and chronic Graft versus Host Disease (GvHD).
